Kids and charity
By Amy | February 18, 2008
I really believe that it is important to teach kids early about giving as well as receiving.
My children know that once they outgrow their clothes, we go through them to decide if they should be donated or thrown away. The one question I have them ask themselves is Read the rest of this entry »

By Amy | December 17, 2007
One dilemma many parents face is chores: what kind, how many, at what ages, and rewards or consequences.
I am trying to figure out a better system to motivate my boys to do the things they really do need to be doing and a reward/consequence system that really works.

Yep, I said CREATIVITY.
So do yourself and your child a favor … Read the rest of this entry »

About three years ago, there was a new robot out just in time for Christmas called “Robosapien“…and of course my boys HAD to have it. I went to about 10 different stores before I finally found a Best Buy that had a couple left and shelled out $100 for this toy.

Legos
By Cindy | November 27, 2007

My son Brian absolutely loved Legos!
He would play with them constantly. He never ran out of unique things to build.
He would build houses and building and cities – as well as people and cars and anything else you can think of.
Even though I never thought about it when he was small, he was actually preparing himself for his future…. Read the rest of this entry »
